While in Texas, Lawson is getting caught up on his Knight heritage... *groan*, I know.... (Oh, wait.... for my newer friends, Knight is my maiden name - some of you might not know that....silly me!)

Grandpa continues to contribute to Lawson's musical education.

Is this how it's done? In all seriousness, Lawson seems to have an ear for music already. He's been dancing for months to music or anything with a rhythm (you should see him with the turn signal on his tonka truck, or the cuckoo clock) and he loves all of his musical toys - especially the ones that let him create his own. It's pretty cool to watch. Better start saving for piano lessons....

A couple of weeks ago, I took Lawson to get another round of professional pictures done. We went to JCPenney and they did a pretty good job. Not a brilliant one, but they captured some cute moments. I'm actually a little grateful there weren't more adorable shots...don't think I could have afforded it! At least they let you get digital copies of your pics to share electronically. Here are some of the ones I liked best:

I knew going in I wanted pics with their bathtub prop. In preparation, my mom made the towel and bath wrap for Lawson to wear with her fancy new embroidery machine. She's starting up a business - doesn't she do good work?

Lawson loves Mickey Mouse. Some of you know that's how I decorated his nursery and he just loves seeing his buddy...

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been away for so long. I got behind and then got overwhelmed with how much I'd have to catch everyone up on. I'll give y'all a highlight reel - there's been a lot going on here lately. Lawson has changed so much in the last month or so....it's really amazing.

On a recent visit to Houston, we visited a cool fountain called the Water Wall. It's a wall of falling water. It created a lot of spray, which felt fabulous on that hot afternoon!

We also went to the Houston Museum of Natural Science - one of my favorite places. Ever. Lawson loved the butterfly exhibit!

Lawson also had his first trip to Freebirds. He loved it! He ate over half that burrito in front of him!

We spent last weekend at my friend, Jennie's, house and pool. We really loved splashing around in the water! Lawson is definitely a water baby.

The biggest news is that Lawson is WALKING! He started right about the 10 month mark with just a step or two and now he's motoring across the room like a pro. He looks a bit like a drunken sailor yet, but he's getting the hang of it. I'm so proud of my little guy!

He's so physical right now, he's not doing a lot of verbal stuff. He understands a lot of what we're saying, but he's not said any real words yet. He does, however, use the word "oh" constantly. It has many pitches, it varies in length and is used primarily when he's trying to figure something out. His face looks so cute when he says it:
