The Circus!

We moved back to Texas over a year ago and so this is our second spring here.  It's kind of fun to do some of the same activities we did last year and see how Lawson experiences them differently as he gets older and more capable.

Yesterday afternoon we caught the first showing of the Carson & Barnes circus that came to town.  Lawson had a lot of fun last year, but he enjoyed it even more this year since he knew what more of the stuff was.

I love this picture of him scarfing popcorn and staring transfixed on the trapeeze artists:

He really likes elephants so this was a particular thrill:

This was even better:

Looking forward to next year!

Spring?

Today is the first day of spring, but you wouldn't know it by looking outside.  We had snow today!  It was 70* on Friday, but a cold front blew in on Saturday and the snow started falling overnight.  We woke up this morning to a winter wonderland.  I'm not sure of the official snow amounts, but I know we stood in snow that was 7 inches deep!  It's already mostly melted and it will be 74* by Tuesday.  Very strange weather...

Oh, well.  It gave us a chance to have one last romp in the white stuff this season.  We've had so much snow this year!  Please forgive the blurry spots on the picture - I didn't realize I had melted snow on my camera lens until it was too late...

I'm Not Irish....Kiss Me Anyway!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!  (well, a day late)  We had a fun evening of good Irish music, Shepherd's Pie for dinner and mint ice cream for dessert.

I forgot to post that on 6 March, Lawson and I went to the North Texas Irish Festival.  We rode the train out to Fair Park, which was Lawson's favorite part of the day!  We ate good food, heard wonderful music, and looked at all kinds of cool Irishy items.  Lawson had a great time at the petting zoo - he kept saying we were at "the farm".  Whatever you want to call it, it was fun!

The Music Continues...

Last Sunday afternoon, Lawson and Grandpa spent a little time on the back porch.  Add a couple of brooms and some Robert Earl Keen and you have a Texas Sunday....

Jam Session

He really does love music - it's so fun to see him developing such a strong interest in something already.

Playtime with Grandma

Lawson threw up in the middle of the night on Tuesday, so Grandma was kind enough to stay with him on Wednesday so I could go to work.  Turns out it wasn't anything major and he didn't get sick again, but I was worried about taking him to school and exposing the other kids to his cooties.

Well, he and Grandma got to playing around and being silly and....ya see....this was the result....

One part fireman, one part Superman, one park rock star...
